Ian Beckett

Ian is CEO and has 35 years of experience in technology and telecom companies. Ian is an accomplished and highly effective IT and operations executive with extensive leadership and management ability coupled with a wealth of experience working with large organizations including multi-national and multi-disciplined technical teams. His previous experience includes: Trilogy International Partners, Western Wireless International, Gateway, AT&T, Westinghouse, and Dataproducts.

Rick Dunn

Rick is Chairman and has 23 years of business, technology, and wireless experience, including executive positions at Trilogy International Partners and Western Wireless International. Collectively, Trilogy and Western acquired, built, and operated wireless carriers in 14 countries. Rick is an alumnus of Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business, Seattle University and Pacific Lutheran University.

Liuba Sarmiento

Liuba is VP of Operations at SSI and has 15 years wireless experience supporting wireless carriers together with an additional 6 years in banking in a variety of international markets. She has overseen the development and deployment of numerous successful products including a fully integrated suite (Mediation, IR, fulfillment, CRM, Billing, and Virtual Wallet) that are being utilized in carrier environments today. Liuba has a master’s degree in computer science from Universidad Nacional Autonoma of Mexico.

History

Salamanca Solutions International (SSI) was formerly a wholly owned subsidiary of wireless operator Trilogy International Partners providing products and solutions to its carrier businesses throughout the world. Trilogy and its predecessor, Western Wireless International, founded by U.S. wireless pioneers, John Stanton and Brad Horwitz, have operated carrier businesses in 14 countries typically in emerging markets and/or with 10 million pops or less.

SSI’s development started with a mediation solution that evolved into a complete suite of solutions addressing the specific needs of Trilogy’s local markets who demanded world class solutions at hyper-competitive prices. As both carriers and developers, we quickly became subject matter experts in multi-vendor integrations, migrations, support and maintenance as well as other managed services.

SSI completed its spinoff from Trilogy in July 2013 and is majority owned today by former Trilogy and Western executives, Rick Dunn, Ian Beckett and Stewart Sherriff, with Trilogy retaining a 20% minority ownership position. Trilogy also continues to be an important client of SSI today.
